The proposals include, Overcladding and extending the existing buildings (Upcott and Huntshaw House) to provide additional floors of accommodation along with the addition of solar conservatories and bay windows to the existing flats & maisonettes. Upgrading the existing lift, stair and balcony access areas, improving the thermal efficiency and reduction in C02 used and making the buildings more sustainable.
Two new Bookend buildings to provide additional accommodation.
Removal of refuse chutes and bin stores within the buildings and providing Sulo refuse points which utilise underground storage to achieve a unobtrusive, clean and robust solution. Greening of the internal courtyards with the introduction of soft landscape areas mixed with pavior and cobbled rumble strips to archive a softer environment which provides sufficient car parking but with the emphasis on pedestrian priority (Home Zone) within these areas. The incorpoation of a range of lighting, railings and gates within the landscape proposals to achieve good quality secure environment for residents and visitors.
